The Peacemaker in Palestine
37 minutes
The
Peacemaker in Palestine takes a rare behind the scenes look at
the historic Rhodes Armistice talks that brought an end to the
Arab-Israeli war of 1948. Ralph Bunche's successful mediation of
peace accords between the fledgling state of Israel and four
neighboring Arab nations- Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan - wins
him the 1950 Nobel Peace Prize and catapults him into worldwide
celebrity. It is the only time in the long history of the Middle
East conflict that all four Arab states sign a peace treaty with
Israel.
