Hitler's army preparing to invade Africa and wrest control of the
continent and its raw materials from the colonial powers, Dr.
Bunche, a top US expert on colonialism , is recruited by the OSS,
the newly created US intelligence agency. Bunche sees this an
opportunity to stop the advance of Nazi forces into Africa. However,
Bunche's former Howard University colleagues attack him for
abandoning the struggle for equal rights at home. This module shows
how Bunche's experience working within the Washington establishment
prepares him for the pioneering work he will pursue within the
United Nations organization.
